B arack Obama has just completed his first year in office and already people are lambasting him. When will they ever learn? In comparison to Dubya’s ‘I don’t care about public opinion, I will do what seems right to me’ attitude, Obama is a far more conscientious President and an active campaigner for what is right and necessary for America to grow into a strong position. Obviously, healthcare for all will be costly but worth it. So will a lot of other initiatives. But at least he is taking care of what needs to be done. In the same way, the present recessionary trend in the economy will not go away until people are convinced about their future jobs and earnings. The world has pinned its hopes on Obama as even the Nobel Peace Prize 2009 went to him in particular recognition of his efforts and position of power on the world stage.

In the current scenario, the time seems right to introduce automation in the workplace. Automated business solutions not only cut costs but raise efficiency by simplifying organization, decision making and a lot of other matters. This is as true in real estate as in any other business. In many industries, businesses are training and cross-training retained staff by regularly introducing new job responsibilities and implementing formal mentoring programs. Employers want to save money and employees have no choice but to do as they are told if they want to keep their jobs.
Companies have also realized that automation can reduce not only staffing costs but rents and need for office space. Many have chosen to outsource some functions. Firms have adopted the Software as a Service trend, making functional partnership in expertise areas across firms to enhance their business results. As technology increases and capacity doubles, it is useless to allocate space for bigger machines or storage, because bigger is not necessarily better.

As a precautionary measure, it is better not to place a strategic commitment on a system or supplier until a long-term contract is signed. It is propitious to enter into long term contacts with suppliers in this downturn as rates have never been lower on hardware and software maintenance contracts, and are likely to be raised or revised in the future.

In short, the world is facing more uncertainty in 2010 than at any time in the past decade. As trusted vendors collapse and application delivery and design models evolve, real estate professionals need to anticipate and meet the changes in their business to the best of their ability. In this respect, an automated package like Master Keycan make all the difference between survival and despair, or success and failure.
